Cancer can spread. Cysts cannot. Best bet would be to confirm with your doctor.

Anyone familiar with this type of cancer?

Question by Carrington: Anyone familiar with this type of cancer?
Today, my mom was diagnosed with Infiltrated Lobular breast cancer, is anyone familiar with this type and how severe is it in comparison with other types of breast cancer? (she’s getting a masectomy monday)

Top answer:

Answer by EmilyRose
Infiltrating lublar carcinoma describes breast cancer that starts from cells in the lobules of the breast, and spreads to other parts of the breast, and potentially to other parts of the body. It is the second most common type of invasive prest cancer, representing 10-15% of invasive breast cancer cases.

There are two main types of breast cancer: infiltrating and in situ. In situ cancers stay where they are and don’t spread to other parts of the breast or the rest of the body. Infiltrating ones do spread. The infiltrating types of breast cancer are more likely to be more serious than the in situ ones in that they can potentially spread to the vital organs. However, there’s no overall rule for predicting how severe a particular case is based on what type it is. The severity of the disease depends far more on how advanced it is and whether or not it has spread to other parts of the body.

Breast cancer is overall one of the more treatable forms of cancer. If the cancer hasn’t let metastasized (spread), there’s a good chance that the all the cancer cells will be removed in the mastectomy. If the cancer has spread to other parts of the body, there’s still a chance that it can be eliminated with chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and other treatments. There are various ways to essentially label cancer cells so they’ll show up on various types of scans, so your mother’s doctor should be able to tell you whether the cancer has spread outside the breast.

Question about breast cancer treatment and working?

A question from VCL: Question about breast cancer treatment and working?
I am a nurse who works in a General surgery and Breast Clinic. I see patients before and after surgery, including patients who are undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Now, I find myself to be one of them. I am currently taking chemo for my breast cancer and will be losing my hair in the next couple of weeks. I think I am prepared for it. I’ve bought a wig and have a collection of caps, scarves and hats. At first, I planned on wearing my wig on the days I am working, but I’ve had a lot of people tell me that wigs can get pretty hot to wear, and with Spring here and Summer coming…. I have been re-thinking that decision. I will never go out in public with a bald head, but am planning on always wearing at least a cap. I am curious about what people really think about going in to see a doctor and have the nurse who checks you in wearing a cap or scarf to cover a bald head? Would you be concerned about having a “sick” nurse take care of you? One of my co-workers said she thought that my breast patients especially would probably really respect me. But on the other hand, if they are there to be told about a new diagnosis of breast cancer, would it make them feel worse to see a nurse and be reminded that they too, will loose their hair going through the chemotherapy?
Thanks for your time and thoughts to answer my question.

I dont think it would bother me at all..

Actually, if anything it would probably make you feel a little more at ease. Knowing that the person treating you knows exactly what you will be going through.

A question from I do not like them, Sam I am.: If UHC is so great, why would Britain deny women breast cancer treatment drugs due to cost?

There…. since you people don’t know what you are talking about and can’t use google.

Source please!!!

Fine, I read your source.

Congratulations, you found proof of a theme that is similar in both Universal Health Care and Privatized Health Care.

That theme is trying to save money. For private, it means increasing profits. For UHC, it means being able to do more with tax payers money.

But that’s not all, because your source article indicates that the UHC has a mechanism in place where their decisions can be appealed. Can you appeal a treatment choice with your HMO? I didn’t think so.

Of course, a wealthy person in either system could choose to pay for this treatment out of pocket, so once again, your article proves absolutely nothing other than that you are stretching.

If you know better then please let us know below.
