Breast Cancer is the most common form of cancer among women. It is more common in rich countries than in poor and it increase when a country gets richer. But with increased income comes also better chances to save those women that get cancer. New Cancer-data in Gapminder World shows how more and more women in a country like Sweden gets breast cancer every year but also how fewer and fewer dies from that cancer. So the statistics show a correlation between number of breast cancer cases and increased wealth. I understand that we would like to lower treatment costs. But wouldn’t it be better and more affordable in the longer run to try to understand what in our habits are causing cancer and therefore prevent it naturally instead of defeating it?
This isn’t rocket science. It’s just common sense.
