Hello, I am wondering if my mom gets breast cancer, whats the survival rate chance?
My mom only gets checked once a year for breast cancer, that is why I am concerned for her.
She does not have breast cancer, but she’s 57, going to be 58. I am concerned about her, she eats right, she has gotten checked for years, and she has no signs of breast cancer.
She told me she examines herself for bumps, lumps, odd discharges, and abnormalities of her breasts.
She has found no signs, but I was concerned because my mom only gets checked out ONCE a year.

It’s the standard for women to get a mammography once a year. That will often detect most cancers in its early stage.
The survival rate really depends on the type of breast cancer. Fortunately, medical advances are made every day.
tell her to keep positive and think happy and that she is gonna make it. if she is religious tell her attend more. my uncle had cancer twice and he attended mass and had it in his head he was gonna make it and sure enough he did twice!
Your mom is doing the right thing. More frequent mammograms are not necessary. The American Cancer Society recommends annual exams for women 40 and older. If there is a history of breast cancer in the family, then sometimes a doctor will recommend starting at an earlier age.
I hope you take an active part in your own health care. Men can get breast cancer too as well as testicular cancer. Go to cancer.org for more information.
it depends upon the Level of disease. and if any secondary center of tumor are formed or not.
These are pretty good survival rates for breast cancer:
Because your mom checks regularly and gets exams if cancer is discovered it should be in it’s early stages.

Hope this helps. Staging is by the size of the tumor: so if it is caught early it would be smaller and the survival rates would be better.
