I’m 13 years old, and for soem reason I have weird scratch marks around my niples. They look like when you wear too tight jeans and once you take them off there’s that weird mark left there from the indent. Kinda liek a stretch mark.
Does anybody know what it is?? And also, is this a signe of breast cancer? Please leav a list of breast cancer symptoms aswell if you can.
Thanks!!!!!!!!

13? Stretch marks? Honey, you’re probably growing.
You know you have breast cancer from the doctor’s tests! I would freak out about a little mark, just go to the doctor to get it checked out!
breast cancer info
Early breast cancer can in some cases present as breast pain (mastodynia) or a painful lump. Since the advent of breast mammography, breast cancer is most frequently discovered as an asymptomatic nodule on a mammogram, before any symptoms are present. A lump under the arm or above the collarbone that does not go away may be present.
When breast cancer has invaded the dermal lymphatics – small lymph vessels of the skin, its presentation can resemble skin inflammation and thus is known as inflammatory breast cancer. In inflammatory breast cancer, the breast cancer is blocking lymphatic vessels and this can cause pain, swelling, warmth, and redness throughout the breast, as well as an orange peel texture to the skin referred to as peau d’orange. Although there may have been no previous signs of breast cancer and the cancer might be missed in screening mamograms, Inflammatory Breast Cancer is at least locally advanced at presentation (LABC) and Stage IIIB. Immediate staging tests are required to rule out distant metastes which might already be present making it Stage IV.
Changes in the appearance or shape of the breast can raise suspicions of breast cancer.
Another reported symptom complex of breast cancer is Paget’s disease of the breast. This syndrome presents as eczematoid skin changes at the nipple, and is a late manifestation of an underlying breast cancer.
Most breast symptoms do not turn out to represent underlying breast cancer. Benign breast diseases such as fibrocystic mastopathy, mastitis, functional mastodynia, and fibroadenoma of the breast are more common causes of breast symptoms. The appearance of a new breast symptom should be taken seriously by both patients and their doctors, because of the possibility of an underlying breast cancer at almost any age.
Occasionally, breast cancer presents as metastatic disease, that is, cancer that has spread beyond the original organ. Metastatic breast cancer will cause symptoms that depend on the location of metastasis. More common sites of metastasis include bone, liver, lung, and brain. Unexplained weight loss can occasionally herald an occult breast cancer, as can symptoms of fevers or chills. Bone or joint pains can sometimes be manifestations of metastatic breast cancer, as can jaundice or neurological symptoms. Pleural effusions are not uncommon with metastatic breast cancer. Obviously, these symptoms are “non-specific,” meaning they can also be manifestations of many other illnesses.
Soy products also help prevent breast cancer.
You are a child and children don’t have that (breast cancer).
That happens when you gain weight in a certain area too fast.Don’t worry about it.
its probably just stretch marks…… u can tell if u have breast cancer if u have a lump on your breast, u probably dont have it, specially for ur age, but yea its just a stretch mark
Sounds like exactly what you said, a stretch mark. Sometimes you can get these on your breast if you have had a growth spurt and your skin elasticity could not keep up therefor resulted in the mark. Breast cancer is when you find a lump in your breast, the doctor confirms and takes a sample of it, runs a test, and confirms the lump is cancerous. Even then, there are benign and malignant lumps determining if the cancer is life threatening or not. No need to worry, you sound like a healthy teenager.
That’s not breast cancer… breast cancer is a small lump deep under the skin, it doesn’t affect the skin at all. No scratch marks or redness, just a lump of hardness. What you have is probably from your bra.
I dont think that does things that you have on your breast is cancer but if a woman has breast cancer you can tell because they have like a bump on one of there breasts.
so I dont think you have breast cancer.
I doubt at 13 that you have breast cancer but its good that you pay attention to your body and changes that it goes through. only a doctor can tell for sure if it is cancer. if you are still concerned about it have your mom or dad schedule you an appointment. here is the list of symptoms that you asked for though:
A lump or thickening in or near the breast or in the underarm area.
A change in the size or shape of the breast.
A discharge from the nipple.
A change in the color or feel of the skin of the breast, areola, or nipple (dimpled, puckered, or scaly).
If those marks weren’t left by your underclothes their probably stretch marks. It happens when you develop. Have your mom examine you. She’ll know what to do.
It sounds like you have stretch marks, this can happen if you gain weight quickly. If you have no pain then I wouldnt worry.Good luck
You are only 13, and still growing. If you have any concern get your parents to take you to see a doctor. If you don’t feel any lumps when you do a self exam, you’re probably alright. The only way to know for sure is to be examined by a doctor. They will do blood work to check for cancer cells. And if they see something wrong they will do a mamogram. If they find a lump they do what is called a biopsy where they insert a needle into you breast and collect a sample to be tested for cancer.
In response to some of the responders…
It is irresponsible to say that this young lass doesn’t have breast cancer because of her age. It is HIGHLY unlikely because of her age, but not impossible and whatever it is be it marks from a too tight bra or stretch marks, it needs attention.
Secondly, breast cancer doesn’t always present as a lump – it can cause discharge from the nipple indicating a problem (sometimes cancer, sometimes not) in the ducts. This cannot be felt when examining the breast.
Any change in the color or feel of the skin of the breast, areola, or nipple (dimpled, puckered, or scaly) needs to be taken seriously. For more information
Pain is never an indicator of breast cancer. Many breast cancers are painless in the beginning. Know your facts!!!
Females of ANY age can get breast cancer and for all of the males out there, males can get breast cancer! Male breast cancer is uncommon, but men account for approximately 1% of all breast cancer cases. Men should also examine their breasts for lumps, bumps, skin discolouration, scaliness etc. exactly the same way as women do!
