No links, only personal experience. Breast cancer does not cause symptoms normally. I, on the other hand had terrible sharp pain and did a self check and found my tumors. Pain, as you will be told is not necessarily a symptom. Most do not have pain. Myself, 2 of my sisters and 2 of my nieces all had sharp pain in the breast with the tumors. That was the only symptom. This is why women need to have mammograms because there are not usually symptoms and without the mammograms or CT scans or any test, they may find out to late. That’s it in a nutshell.

Here are a couple links to sites I have used and go to.
Some of the symptoms of early stage breast cancer are a lump, nipple discharge, puckered skin or an ulcer on the breast. The symptoms of metastatic breast cancer depend on where else the cancer has spread eg secondary bone cancer will result in bone pain.
I had breast cancer when I was 31. My symptoms were milky discharge from the nipple for 2 years prior to finding the lump. Mammograms are not a useful diagnostic tool for younger women because their breast tissue is dense. I had 2 mammograms (as a matter of procedure) and both failed to show the lump even though it was visible to the eye by that stage. Ultrasound or MRI are used with younger women.
Something all of U have forgotten to mention. The BEST way to find a lump is w/regular self exams! No one knows ur breast better then U do! And if U find a lump, GO TO THE DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY. Most breast lumps are benign. But it doesn’t pay to take that chance!
And the really bad thing is..most tumors are painless. And a lot of breast cancer patients don’t have any symptoms (other then the lump).Mine was. I had a half-dollar sized lump that was treated w/ Herceptin (which I know is usually a late stage cancer treatment, but I was HER2+) and a mild course of radiation. I was doing exams monthly, and found the lump. Had it of not been for my husband and my daughters, I might have put off going. Just because it didn’t hurt, I didn’t wanna think it was anything. But I am sooo glad that my family was there for me! They saved my life!!
