You have a 0% chance of having breast cancer. In the history of medicine there has never been a 12 y/o with breast cancer. Move on with your life.
It’s kinda common for boys to get “breast budding” during puberty. It might last about a year, and usually just goes away.
Breast cancer can occur in males, but it is very rare. When it does happen, it is most often in a man older than 50 years of age (the average age is 60) and it is usually related to hormone disturbances.
Breast cancer in adolescent males is virtually unheard of. However, teenage boys going through puberty commonly develop a tender lump under the nipple of one or both breasts. This condition is called “gynecomastia.” It is normal, temporary, and not a sign of breast cancer.

i actually had the same thing goin on when i was that age. it felt like the size of a small grape. the doc said it was a cyst, therefore nothing to worry about, but he removed it and did a biopsy anyways. he was right there was nothing to worry about…
do u have any history of breast cancer or any type of cancer in the family?
if no. you have a lesser chance in having a breast cancer
and is that lump hurts when you touch it??

If a 12 year old girl had breast cancer, it would make news headlines the world over, and be written up in medical journals worldwide because of its EXTREME rarity. A 12 year old boy with breast cancer would cause a much bigger sensation than that.
Yes, men CAN get breast cancer; it’s rare though – fewer than 1% of those diagnosed with breast cancer are male. And most men diagnosed with it are over 60, though through breast cancer support networks I have met a very few men in their late 40s and 50s with breast cancer.
In the town where I live there is a man who was diagnosed with it at the age of 24. I don’t know him, I know about him – his case made the papers because he is the youngest man EVER to have been diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK, the youngest by many years.
80% of all people diagnosed with breastcancer are over 50. It’s rare in women under 40, fewer than 0.1% of women diagnosed are under 30, and it’s almost unheard of in under 25s.
So you can see how unlikely it would be for a pre-teen male to have breast cancer
Your family are right; most breast lumps in men are gynaecomastia, a button-like growth under the nipple and areola area that can be felt and is sometimes visible to the naked eye and occasionally it can be quite tender.
This increase in the amount of breast tissue is not a tumour and occurs due to changes in hormone balances at times like adolescence – your age in other words.
This is almost certainly what you have; mention it to your doctor next time you see her/him so that s/he can reassure you.
