I am a breast cancer survivor and continuing my education to achieve my associates degree as a paralegal. In one of my classes, we were talking about a living will and organ donation. I asked my professor if I would be able to donate because of my condition. I have tried to look it up on the internet, and was unable to come up with something concrete. Does anyone out there know the answer to this question?

In Australia, once you have had a cancer diagnosis, you are unable to donate anything other than cornea.
Instead, I have now made the decision to become a cadaver, for medical students.
Not in the US. Once you have been exposed to chemo drugs, they circulate through your entire system. Plus the fact that you had cancer because there is always the chance that another cancer cell is hiding somewhere and it could be in the organ you donate. Cancer cells can lie dormant for years then manifest themselves. again. Good for you on your education. My sister is a paralegal too and the money is darn good. I hope you do well with it. God bless.
