vancie121 asked: Does anyone know of a good site that has qusetions you should ask at your first appointment with the specialist?
My mom just go diagnosed with breast cancer and I am looking for somewhere that has questions she (or I) should ask at the first visit. At this point she doesn’t have any information except that her biopsy came back positive for cancer. With the size and description it sounds as if it is one of the early stages but I want to know what kind of questions we need to make sure we ask so that we can be fully informed.
I’ve been looking on the cancer sites for information (cancer.org, cancer.gov, etc…) are there any other ones that people recommend?
Can anyone help? Thanks.
Besides how bad is it and what is next.

ok, i was reading in Seventeen and it just made me curious. if you have breast cancer a sign could be nipple inversion. what if the nipple inversion showed like when u were seven and now youre 12, could it still be breast cancer. and lumps, could they just be like itches or something? and who should you contact to check about it? also, its like when some people do have breast cancer and are in the hospital to check they shave their hair off. is that a MUST? and do breast apperances MUST change when you get breast cancer fixed?

Erik the Red asked: My girlfriend’s mother has breast cancer, so I’ve been doing some research on the matter to find helpful info.
I came across the Natioal Breast Cancer Foundation’s website, and all it says they do there is provide mammograms and try to educate people about breast cancer… it doesn’t seem like they actually do anything in terms of treating it…

I heard that there is a gene that some people carry that is linked to breast cancer. Will my insurance cover it if it’s just elective. I wasn’t for sure how this worked.

Some people donate and contribute in diffrent ways. Whether its a monatary donation or a walk for the cure, everybody can do a small part to help such a devastating illness. If you know someone that have breast cancer, kind words or calling frequently to check up on them to see how they are doing is doing a big part, of helping women or even men because they get breast cancer to, but mostly women to fight breast cancer. They need encouragment to know that somebodys in their corner helping and cheering them on, as they agree to fight this instead of giving up. Dealing with any illness is tiring. But with encouragment and caring, we can help these women beat this illness and get on with their lives.

My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in her mid-40′s and she’s the only one who had it in my family.I’m 19 and she’s stressing about the prospect that I’ll get it too because she had it.As far as I know there have to be at least 2 people in your family for the cancer to be linked to genetic reasons.Am I wrong?
